Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whiskies
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 42.5%
A single cask 1951 Mortlach bottled as a 63-year-old in 2014 by Gordon & MacPhail as one of four special bottlings for the Private Collection Ultra range. Cask 704 was selected by retired managing director David Urquhart and his twin sons Stuart and Richard, who both work in the family business.
This 63-year-old Mortlach 1951 came from a single sherry hogshead cask that yielded just 61 bottles at its natural cask strength of 42.5%. Mortlach ages wonderfully in sherry casks and this is one of the oldest and most sought-after examples from the masters of long-aged Speyside whisky.
