Glen Grant 1957-2021 | 64 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Mr George Legacy Single Cask 3483 2nd Edition
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 56.1%
A remarkable 1957 Glen Grant, bottled as a 64-year-old for the second edition of Gordon & MacPhail's Mr. George Legacy. Mr George, of course, refers to George Urquhart, the legendary director who invented the Connoisseurs Choice range in 1968, and grandfather of G&M's current Operations Director, Stuart Urquhart.
This 64-year-old Glen Grant 1957 is from a first fill sherry butt, Cask #3483, that has given it an extraordinarily dark chestnut colour, and yielded a batch of 298 bottles at a jaw-dropping 56.1%. The list of incredible Glen Grants bottled by Gordon & MacPhail is a very long one, but this 1957 64-year-old looks destined to go straight into the pantheon.

Nose: On the nose, the rich mahogany whisky releases aromas of fruitcake, festive spices, marmalade and treacle.
Palate: Notes of morello cherries and garden mint greet the palate, followed by ripe red apple, citrus peel and subtle aniseed.
Finish: It finishes in an explosion of flavour, with lingering notes of spice, forest fruits and charred oak.
