Glen Grant 1959-2022 | 63 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Mr George Legacy Single Cask 3665 3rd Edition
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 56.5%
An ancient single cask Glen Grant 1959 bottled as a 63-year-old in 2022 at full strength without colouring or chill filtration by Gordon & Macphail as the Third Edition of the Mr. George Legacy series.
This 63-year-old Glen Grant 1959 came from a single first fill sherry butt cask that yielded an impressive 368 bottles at its natural cask strength of 56.5%. Glen Grant's near-miraculous spirit thrives in both bourbon and sherry casks; it's remarkable that any whisky can survive over six decades in a sherry cask, but this Glen Grant doesn't seem tired at all. A majestic, rich, oily, citrussy miracle.

Palate: Stewed red fruit flavours lead to Seville orange with a hint of garden mint. Tart raspberry notes develop accompanied by cocoa powder and mature oak.
Finish: A full finish with lingering cinnamon and forest fruits.
