An old Macallan 1977 18-year-old Speyside single malt whisky released in 1995 in the classic old school blue ribbon packaging. This was still back in the days when Macallan only ever bottled their sherry cask matured single malts.
The 1990s were an amazing time for Macallan. Their 1960s and 1970s distillates bottled for the 18-year-old and 25-year-old Anniversary Selection were being recognised as all-time classic single malt whiskies, while the distillery was cementing its place at the top of the tree and already beginning to dominate the secondary market.
