An old bottle of Macallan 1973 18-year-old, this was matured in 100% sherry casks and released without colouring in 1991 in the standard blue riband presentation of the day. A great example of this iconic whisky.

So much has been written about these classic 1990s Macallan bottlings, but it really does bear repeating: the 18-year-old and 25-year-old Macallan single malts being released in this period were extraordinary drams, packed with intense sweet, leathery, spicy, dried fruit and nutty flavours, and their quality and consistency was instrumental in both cementing Macallan's position as the No.1 prestige distillery in Scotland and in laying the ground for the modern whisky market of today.
