An old bottle of the famous Glenury Royal 1971 23-year-old Highland single malt whisky bottled by Diageo progenitor United Distillers in 1995 for their soon-to-be-legendary Rare Malts editions at its mighty cask strength of 61.3%. This is the famous edition that won Best Single Malt Whisky at the 1996 International Wine & Spirit Competition.

Almost uniquely among the Rare Malts, this 23-year-old Glenury Royal 1971 had a strongly sherry-influenced style and was a revelation to many whisky fans who had yet to experience the distillery's delights - though sadly Glenury had already been closed for a decade before this edition hit the shelves.
