A wonderful old bottle of Talisker 8-year-old Island single malt whisky. This is an official bottling from The Distillers Agency, the distribution arm of Diageo forerunners Distillers Company Ltd (DCL), and is an unusual long-necked bottle with a small, short screwcap that suggests it was bottled around the end of the 1960s.

Needless to say, this Talisker 8-year-old will be spectacular whisky - the distillery still had its own floor maltings at the time this whisky would have been distilled in the late 1950s or early 1960s, and Taliskers from this era tend towards a rich, oily, fruity profile with a sooty, peppery power and delicious minerally notes that show beautifully in the higher strength examples like this one, which was bottled at the old UK imperial 80 proof, equivalent to 45.7%.
