A 2009 vintage Talisker bottled as a 12-year-old in November 2021 by Douglas Laing for their Old Particular range. It's rare to see indie Talisker, so this is a treat.

Cask DL15435 of Talisker 2009 was a refill hogshead that yielded a total of 136 bottles at Douglas Laing's favoured strength of 48.4% and, as always with DL, this whisky was bottled without colouring or chill filtration and should be an absolute star.

Nose: A smoky sweetness with coastal sea air and charred wood.

Palate: A caramel sweetness for sure running to bacon crisps, seaweed and peppercorns.

Finish: Long... maritime with seashells, bonfire embers and gentle spice.
