Springbank 1965-2001 | 36 Year Old Local Barley Single Cask 7
Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 50.4%
An old bottle of the iconic single cask Springbank 1965 36-year-old Local Barley Campbeltown single malt whisky. Released at its natural strength of 50.4%, this was Cask 7, one of five sister casks of Springbank 1965 Local Barley released in 2001 and marked the end of the original run of Local Barley bottlings. This is bottle No.1 of this all-time classic Springbank.
Released without fanfare between 1990 and 2001, the first few waves of Local Barley single cask Springbanks from the vintages between 1965-1970 caused a sensation with their bewildering intensity of fruit, coastal complexity, ancient peat notes, wax and a myriad of other beautiful complexities, and have since passed into whisky folklore. A quite extraordinary Springbank that every malt whisky fan should endeavour to try at least once.
