An old bottle of Port Ellen 1979 30-year-old Islay single malt whisky, the 9th edition Port Ellen from Diageo's Special Releases. This cask strength banger was released in 2009 and is still regarded as one of the highlights of the Special Releases series.

This was the first Port Ellen Special Release to hit the 30-year-old mark, being distilled in 1979 and bottled in 2009 in a limited edition of 5916 bottles at its extremely impressive natural cask strength of 57.7%. A stunning composition of huge, oily coastal notes, Atlantic freshness, minerals, citrus fruits and slightly earthy, dirty, peat oils, the 9th Release is a massive, complex and brilliant Port Ellen. An all-time classic.
