An old bottle of Old Pulteney 12-year-old Highland single malt whisky bottled by the distillery at 40%. The box for this bottle included an offer to win a sailing experience in conjunction with the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race 2013-14, so it's safe to assume this was bottled around then.

Old Pulteney 12-year-old is one of the classic entry-level Highland single malt whiskies. Pulteney is one of the last urban distilleries, dominating a street corner in the fishing town of Wick in the far north of Scotland; owners Inver House have long made much of these connections with the time-honoured tagline 'The Maritime Malt', which could perhaps also be a reference to the whisky's delicious briny tang. A gem.
