Mortlach 1936-1986 | 50 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Crystal Decanter

Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 75cl / 40%

A 1936 Mortlach 50-year-old bottled by Gordon & MacPhail all the way back in 1986 in an elegant plain crystal decanter decorated with the famously intricate Book Of Kells label. Although G&M had been bottling 1936 Mortlach since at least the early 1970s, we think this was the first Book of Kells Mortlach from the company.

All the usual old school flavours are present and correct in this stunning Book of Kells 50-year-old Mortlach 1936: ancient peat, heathery smoke, metal polish, tobacco, cocoa powder, rancio, tobacco leaf, touches of wood smoke, old spices, cigar boxes, leather, old books, lashings of tropical and green fruits. A straight-up masterpiece.
