This 20-year-old Mannochmore 1997 was bottled without colouring or chill filtration from a single bourbon hogshead cask that yielded 276 bottles at what seems like an ideal natural cask strength of 52.7%. Mannochmore's clean, spicy distillate shines at this sort of age but like so many of Diageo's workhorse distilleries it seems destined to remain in the shadows - a shame, as people will miss out on gems like this.
