Originally released in 2003, this Macallan 1990 cask number 24680 was the fourth release in the legendary original run of Macallan ESC Exceptional Single Casks. A fabulously rich and complex dram for its age and unquestionably one of the best official cask strength Macallan bottlings this side of the Millennium.
This 1990 Macallan ESC IV Cask 24680 was bottled in January 2003 shortly after its 12th birthday from a sherry butt cask at its natural cask strength of 57.4%. We don't know how many of these famous ESC half-litre (50cl) bottles came out of the cask, but it definitely wasn't enough.
