A lovely old bottle of Macallan 1975 18-year-old Speyside single malt whisky, bottled at 43% in 1993. These old blue ribbon Macallan 18-year-olds had been part of the core range since the mid-1980s and were well established by this time as the connoisseur's after-dinner tipple of choice.
Distilled and bottled during Macallan's decades-long peak, these fabulous old 1970s vintages of Macallan 18-year-old were matured in the kind of top quality fresh sherry casks that just cannot be had in sufficient quantity today to make whisky like this commercially viable. A symphony of sweet dried fruit with nutty, chocolatey notes and warming spices on the finish. Magnificent stuff.
