Longmorn 1964-2010 | 46 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection Single Cask 1534
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & Macphail 70cl / 51.9%
A single cask Longmorn 1964 46-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled in 2010 by independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail for their Private Collection range.
This remarkable 46-year-old Longmorn 1964 came from single cask 1534, a first fill sherry hogshead that yielded 164 bottles at a very impressive 51.9%. Longmorn was making absolutely spell-binding whisky in the mid-1960s and of course the sherry was rather better in those days too - this magnificent ancient Speysider is packed with leather, tobacco and rich fruitcake notes.
A huge whisky, overflowing with fruit jams, toasted brioche, butter, simmering wood spices, treacle, hints of tar, mint tea, all kinds of fruits and an endless, rich clean sherry throughout. Magnificent stuff.
