Ledaig 2009-2023 | 14 Year Old Berry Bros & Rudd Single Cask 700327
Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Berry Brothers & Rudd 70cl / 53.5%
A single cask of the 2009 vintage of Ledaig, the peated single malt whisky from Tobermory distillery on the isle of Mull, bottled as a 14-year-old in 2023 without colouring or chill filtration by fancypants indies Berry Bros & Rudd.
Back in 2010, BBR released a pair of epic sherry casks from Ledaig's 2005 vintage that caused a scramble and created a huge amount of buzz around the distillery, and it's no exaggeration to say that BBR played a significant role in Ledaig's subsequent rise.
This 14-year-old Ledaig 2009 was bottled by Berry Bros after finishing in a single Oloroso sherry hogshead cask 700327, yielding 240 bottles at a very promising 53.5% strength, and will doubtless be packed with the distillery's signature meaty, tarry funk.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Smoked bacon, grilled meats and bonfire ash draw you into this glass before it develops into peat bogs, hearths and soot.
Palate: Everything deepens on the palate bringing more smoked meats, with Cullen skink and wood smoke.
Finish: Lingering savoury smoke and cocoa endure on the palate. A dram to enjoy while Mulling over why peat devotees always flock to Islay.
