A lovely old bottle of the classic Laphroaig 10-year-old Islay single malt whisky. This edition dates back to the late 1990s, in the warm glow of the early Royal Warrant years - a wonderful era for the most popular Islay malt.

These mid-to-late 1990s Laphroaig 10-year-olds are absolutely brilliant value for money nowadays - although obviously not quite as reliably fruity or spectacular as their more exalted 1970s and 1980s counterparts, the good news for drinkers is this means secondary market prices remain sensible, and the vast majority of these bottles are still wonderfully tropical, honeyed and almost laughably easy to drink, with a noticeably restrained peatiness from the 1980s distillate.
