A litre bottle of Johnnie Walker 18-year-old Platinum Label blended Scotch whisky. This is a 2015 edition of this short-lived Johnnie Walker expression, and as it's a 100cl bottling it was likely produced for travel retail.
Johnnie Walker Platinum Label 18-year-old replaced the much-loved Johnnie Walker Gold Label 18-year-old in 2011, appearing first in the travel retail market and then being rolled into the main core range the following year, while Johnnie Walker Gold Label 18-year-old was downgraded to a no-age-statement blend known as Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve.
In 2017, however, Johnnie Walker Platinum label 18-year-old was discontinued after just six years of existence and was replaced with a 'new' Johnnie Walker 18-year-old with a rather brownish gold-tinged label. Fans of Johnnie Walker Platinum 18-year-old have snapped up much of the remaining stock in the intervening years and it is now one of the less common old JW expressions in the secondary market.
