The old 1980s and 1990s bottlings of Jura were (and remain) great examples of the softer side of Island single malt whiskies, with their gentle, biscuity, bready, caramel-tinged medium-weight palates a world away from the heavy duty island whiskies like Talisker, or Jura's neighbours across the water on Islay. An easy-drinking treat from a simpler time in the whisky world.
