A single cask Glenglassaugh 1973 40-year-old Rare Cask Highland single malt whisky  bottled in 2014 without colouring or chill filtration as part of the first batch of Rare Cask releases from the distillery.

This 40-year-old Rare Cask Glenglassaugh 1973 was selected by Billy Walker, the master distillery-whisperer, whose Benriach Distillery Co. had bought Glenglassaugh the previous year, and was finished in a single Manzanilla sherry puncheon. Cask 6801 yielded 497 bottles at its natural strength of 52.1% and this is a fantastically punchy, intense old school sherried Highland whisky of the very best kind.
