Glenfiddich Special Old Reserve Pure Malt Half Bottle
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 35cl / 43%
An old 35cl half-bottle (350ml) of Glenfiddich Special Old Reserve Speyside single malt whisky released at 43% at some point most likely in the 1990s, when the old Pure Malt designation was still allowed on whisky labels. At the time, 'Pure Malt' was used indiscriminately by producers to signify either single malt or vatted malt whiskies (the latter now known, regrettably, as Blended Malt).
At any rate, these old Glenfiddichs are very pleasant easy-drinking drams, with the 43% versions like this always preferable to the 40% versions as they have a bit more flavour and oomph. It may only be a half-bottle, but you can be sure it's packing plenty of old school light Speyside character.
