Glenfarclas 1989-2006 | 17 Year Old | The Family Cask 11721
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 60%
The first ever Family Cask 1989 Glenfarclas, bottled as a 17-year-old from a single sherry butt that yielded a pleasingly round 600 bottles at an equally pleasingly round cask strength of 60%.
This is a particularly interesting Family Cask, as it's from the first ever run of the series and was bottled in November of 2006, almost a year before the Family Casks were launched at London's Caledonian Club in September 2007. This 1989 Glenfarclas 17-year-old is a small but significant slice of history from one of Speyside's greatest distilleries.

Tasting Notes
Official tasting notes by George Grant
A medium coloured whisky, similar to autumn straw.
A beautiful Glenfarclas, smooth to the nose and mouth, lots of grape and sherry, full and rich. A wonderful rich and powerful whisky, the sherry flavours very prominent but not overpowering, once the whisky has had some air infused with it, there is some light nuttiness and vanilla flavours fighting their way through.
Finish sweet with light dark chocolate, a very typical Glenfarclas. A long distinguished finish, a lingering taste which seems to last for hours.
