Glendronach 1992-2018 | 26 Year Old Single Cask 220 Whisky-Online Exclusive
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling Exclusive For Whisky-Online 70cl / 54.7%
A single cask Glendronach 1992 26-year-old Highland single malt whisky bottled in 2018 exclusively for Whisky-Online. Glendronach 1992 single cask 220 was bottled without colouring or chill filtration at full cask strength.
This 26-year-old Glendronach 1992 was one of 457 bottles yielded from single cask 220, which was a sherry butt with a hefty but not overpowering natural cask strength of 54.7%.
Cask 220 was the first of two Glendronach single casks bottled exclusively for Whisky-Online and was selected by Wayne, Harrison & Tim exclusively for Whisky-Online.com back in 2018, just before Brown-Forman took ownership of the distillery.
This cask was chosen from a selection of worthy contenders, including some from the renowned 1993 vintage. Our team wasn't looking for a whisky based simply on reputation; they sought a cask that would be respected for its sheer quality and exceptional character.

Tasting Notes
Whisky-Online Tasting Notes:
Colour: Deep Amber
Nose: A rather elegant old style of sherry. Saline, nutty and redolent with damp earthy notes, bitter chocolate, old Armagnac and touches of rancio. Hints of lemon rind underneath hot espresso, black pepper and myriad soft dark fruits. Water reveals marzipan-wrapped prunes, damson compote and earthy black teas.
Palate: A rather surprising and hefty spiciness. Lots of woody mulling spices, treacle, black pepper, hot paprika and things like roast chestnuts, camphor and new leather. Hints of lime cordial, charcoal, black cherry, truffled meats and a salty, resinous rancio note. Water reveals dark fruit cordials, jams, damp pipe tobacco and strawberry wine.
Finish: Long, earthy, salty, full of walnut oils, sharp spices and hints of cough syrups and herbal resins. Extremely satisfying and thrillingly old school, echoing sherry.
