Glendronach 18 Year Old Allardice Bottled 2022
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46%
An old bottle of Glendronach 18-year-old Allardice, the long-aged core range expression introduced by former distillery head honcho Billy Walker back in 2009. This edition was bottled in 2022, and therefore should have been distilled around 2003/4, shortly after the distillery was revived after being mothballed between 1996-2001.
Matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at a sturdy 46% drinking strength, Glendronach 18-year-old Allardice is a textbook study of richness and intensity with an opulent and luxurious flavour profile. A dram of exceptional quality that blows the competition clean out of the water.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Appearance: Bright deep gold with a tawny centre.
Nose: Sweet aromatics of fudge and Muscovado sugar. Fruit compote and glacier morello cherries provide added complexity.
Palate: Rich dark and seductive. Remarkable flavours of stewed fruits and all-spice marry together with classic aged Oloroso sherry and toasted walnut bread combined with chocolate orange.
Conclusion: Tremendously complex and long.
