Glendronach 18 Year Old Allardice Bottled 2018
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46%
An old bottle of Glendronach 18-year-old Allardice, the long-aged core range expression introduced by former distillery head honcho Billy Walker back in 2009.
Matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks, Glendronach 18-year-old Allardice is a textbook study of richness and intensity with an opulent and luxurious flavour profile. This edition was bottled in 2018, which would have been the last year that Glendronach had to use the older 1990s vintages for the Allardice 18-year-old, as the distillery was mothballed between 1996-2001. A dram of exceptional quality that blows the competition clean out of the water.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Appearance: Bright deep gold with a tawny centre.
Nose: Sweet aromatics of fudge and Muscovado sugar. Fruit compote and glacier morello cherries provide added complexity.
Palate: Rich dark and seductive. Remarkable flavours of stewed fruits and all-spice marry together with classic aged Oloroso sherry and toasted walnut bread combined with chocolate orange.
Conclusion: Tremendously complex and long.
