Glen Moray 12 Year Old Circa 1990
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 75cl / 40%
A lovely old bottle of Glen Moray 12-year-old Speyside single malt whisky, this would have been released around the end of the 1980s or very early 1990s (so likely distilled towards the end of the 1970s) and would probably originally have arrived in one of the distillery's much-loved Highland Regiment commemorative tins that people used to keep to store biscuits / pencils / spaghetti etc in.
Glen Moray was still grinding along as the poor relation in the Macdonald & Muir portfolio at the time this was bottled, living in the shadow of big sister distillery Glenmorangie, which enjoyed the entirety of the company's marketing efforts. This was a pity as Glen Moray's whisky, particularly at this age, is a delightful exemplar of the gentler side of Speyside. A treat for fans of easy-drinking afternoon whiskies.
