Cambus 1982-2023 | 40 Year Old XOP Cask DL17181
Lowland Single Grain Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Douglas Laing 70cl / 41.3%
A 40-year-old Cambus 1982 single cask single grain whisky from Douglas Laing, bottled without colouring or chill filtration in 2023 for the Extra Old Particular (XOP) range.
This 1982 Cambus 40-year-old came from Cask DL17181, a refill hogshead that yielded 157 bottles at its naturally low cask strength of 41.3%, so they caught this one in the nick of time!
The Cambus distillery was closed by Diageo forerunner United Distillers in 1993, and one day these fabulous long-aged grains will be no more - so we should be grateful for these remaining little treasures while we have them.

Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Opens roundly sweet, and full of bourbon, coffee, plus later citrus and cereal.
Palate: More (Arabica) coffee on the palate ahead of liquorice and slightly burnt vanilla toffee.
Finish: The coffee finish now carries cream and sugar, ahead of the whisky.
