A long-aged single cask Cambus 1976 45-year-old Lowland single grain whisky bottled in 2022 by Douglas Laing for their prestige XOP (Extra Old Particular) range.
This 45-year-old Cambus 1976 came from a refill hogshead cask DL15622 that yielded 166 bottles at its natural cask strength of 49.1%. The Cambus grain distillery closed in 1993, but it's great to see that top class casks of this superb grain whisky are still out there, and hopefully this will continue to be the case for a few years yet.

Nose: The nose reveals golden syrup to the fore with stewed pears, raspberry jam, and lemon panna cotta.
Palate: The palate is fulsome and creamy carrying fruit gums, vanilla, maraschino cherry and honey.
Finsih: The finish is long and lingering with gentle spice, caramel sweets and warm banoffee pie.
