An old bottle of Balvenie 40-year-old in its fancy bespoke wooden tube. This was bottled from a mix of bourbon and sherry casks and released at a great drinking strength of 48.5%.

Balvenie is one of those whiskies that just seems to keep on improving with age, and this 40-year-old shows the distillate at near perfection. All kinds of tertiary and dried fruit aromas with mulling spices, wet earth, coal fires, fresh butter, cereal and delicate tropical aromas. Totally stunning whisky.
