Balvenie 19 Year Old | The Edge Of Burnhead Wood
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 48.7%
The Edge of Burnhead Wood is a Balvenie 19-year-old limited edition released in 2022 as part of the distillery's Stories range, distinguished alumni of which include The Week of Peat, Red Rose and Tale of the Dog. And on that note, if they'd called it Burnhead Woof it could have been a shaggy dog Story, but never mind.
Bottled at a welcoming 48.7%, Balvenie 19-year-old Edge of Burnhead Wood is the first Balvenie made with ingredients entirely from the distillery's estate, including homegrown barley dried with the smoke from damp heather gathered from a moor at The Edge of Burnhead Wood, adding a fragrant herbal note to Balvenie's honeyed fruity aromas and flavours.

Nose: Lively and vibrant, this Balvenie has notes of fig and geranium oil perfectly balanced with fresh herbal undertones reminiscent of green woodland.
Palate: Flavours of honey, cloves and caramelised baked dates are layered on top of delicate citrus and spice. The sweetness reveals an underlying oaky dryness.
Finish: Lingering, oaky, dried blossom.
