A bottle of Arran 17-year-old Island single malt whisky, a special one-off bottling released without colouring or chill filtration in 2023.
Arran have done a few 17-year-old editions in the past, most recently in 2022, when a cask strength Rare Batch 17-year-old fully matured in Calvados casks appeared. This version is rather different, being a bigger batch of 12000 bottles and without any Calvados casks: the 2023 edition of Arran 17-year-old is bottled at 46% from a cask recipe evenly balanced between first and second fill sherry hogsheads and first fill bourbon barrels.
It's so great that Arran now have enough stock to do regular longer-aged bottlings - this 17-year-old looks like a racing certainty to be an absolute stunner.
