An old bottle of the magnificent Ardbeg 17-year-old Islay single malt whisky. This is a 2003 bottling of Ardbeg 17-year-old, which had first appeared towards the end of 1997 and caused a sensation among single malt whisky fans, adding a big impetus to the growing trend for smoky Islay whisky at the time.

Ardbeg 17-year-old was the first new Ardbeg bottling released under new owner Glenmorangie's stewardship, and it's fair to say that this whisky really kickstarted the revival in fortunes for many people's favourite Islay distillery. These early bottles of Ardbeg 17-year-old are becoming increasingly difficult to find nowadays.
