This is the second of our two Whistle Pig barrel picks specially selected by Wayne, Harrison and Tim and bottled exclusively for Whisky-Online.

Each of these barrels have their own individual qualities that make them stand out. Both casks were bursting with flavour but Barrel #102222 is noticeably different to Barrel #102130, with this one being the more robust and earthy of the two picks.

Available only at Whisky-Online, Barrel #102222 was aged for 10 years in Warehouse 2, Rick E, Level 2 at the WhistlePig farm before being hand-bottled at 53.1% (106.2 US Proof).

WhistlePig 10-year-old Barrel #102222 is limited to just 120 individually numbered 75cl bottles and 144 miniatures (5cl).

Tasting Notes

By Whisky-Online

Nose: A fruit-forward nose with raisins, currants, dried plums and blackberries. The woody aromas follow: varnish, glue, fresh cardamom and vanilla pods. Develops moss and bark aromas with time in the glass.

Palate: Sweet and earthy off the bat, then becomes very leafy - more herbaceous than the nose suggested. The dried fruits from the nose are there, with pine resin, playdoh and furniture polish notes.

Finish: Long, warming and peppery with a faint herby menthol tingle at the end.

Comments: More robust than the sister cask, this is perhaps less subtle but bursting with character and flavour.
