A mystery single malt assembled from a small batch of three casks of the 2008 vintage from an undisclosed Highland distillery, bottled as a 12-year-old by Elixir Distillers for their Reserve Casks series, an offshoot of their Single Malts of Scotland range.
Undisclosed Highland distilleries are difficult to pin down - the usual suspects are Glenmorangie and Clynelish, but there are many Highland distilleries including Glengoyne, Glen Garioch and Glenallachie that you very rarely see as indie bottlings. Still, undisclosed or not, a 12-year-old Highland single malt bottled at 48% without colouring or chill filtration is always going to be good value at this price.
