Tullibardine 1993-2021 | 28 Year Old Berry Bros & Rudd Single Cask 954
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Berry Bros & Rudd 70cl / 48.6%
Tullibardine is one of those distilleries that not a great deal of people pay any attention to. This can be a mistake, especially when bottlers like Berry Bros are picking the casks.
Here's a case in point - a long-aged refill hogshead of 28-year-old Tullibardine 1993, bottled in 2021 by Berry Bros & Rudd at its natural cask strength of 48.6%. Tullibardine's spirit is generally light and grassy like a Lowlander, and allied to nearly three decades in a subtle refill cask like this the results can be a beautiful array of tropical fruits seasoned with gentle oak spices.

Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Tullibardine’s trademark grassiness emerges on the nose, mingled with lime zest, a hint of wood smoke and some vanilla custard.
Palate: The palate follows this theme, a little spice peppering the mid palate before some gentle fruity notes offer banana, lychee and perhaps a touch of furniture polish. Immensely easy going yet pleasingly complex.
Doug McIvor Says
“Time has allowed tropical notes to develop and for the honeyed texture to carry a swathe of fruits including zesty lime, apricot, lychee and peach. The nose retains much freshness with some lovely beeswax and perhaps a hint of linseed and fennel. The finish carries a hint of pepper which keeps it lively to the last.”
