Tobermory 24 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish
Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 52.5%
Tobermory 24-year-old Oloroso Finish is a limited edition from a batch of Tobermory's standard 15-year-old that was re-racked into Oloroso sherry casks nine years ago for a second maturation.
Bottled at a hearty 52.5%, this 24-year-old is the second edition of Tobermory's annual release Hebridean series and there's more to look forward to, as each subsequent release will have spent an extra year in the Oloroso casks.
The revival of Tobermory (and sister distilleries Deanston and Bunnahabhain) under Burn Stewart and Distell is one of the most welcome developments in the whisky industry in recent times.
These distilleries are going from strength to strength now after many years in the doldrums and it's great to see.
