Talisker Skye was first released around 2015 and is one of several NAS Taliskers released this century to take the pressure off the stocks being squirreled away for future editions of the distillery's 10-year-old bottling. 

These no-age-statement Taliskers have the added benefit of boosting the distillery's brand profile - while only relatively small amounts of Talisker 10-year-old can be produced each year, NAS expressions are essentially unlimited in supply and can therefore be stocked in supermarkets. Skye is Talisker at its simplest and gentlest, which upsets the purists but can serve as a gateway malt for one of the world's greatest distilleries.
