The Stronachie name referred originally to a distillery in Perthshire that closed in 1928, whose whisky was distributed by the Andrew Dewar Rattray firm in Glasgow. In 2002, the Stronachie name was revived by Dewar Rattray descendant Tim Morrison's relaunched A.D. Rattray indie bottlers for a new Stronachie brand using single malt whisky sourced from Benrinnes distillery. Stronachie 10-year-old was first introduced to the new Stronachie range in 2017.
