The second edition of Saint Lucia Distillers' 1931 rum first appeared in 2012, and celebrates 81 years of rum distillation on the island, after the company's Dennery distillery was founded in the Mabouya Valley in 1931. Dennery was later merged with the Roseau distillery in the 1970s to form St Lucia Distillers.
Bottled at a welcoming 43%, St Lucia Distillers 1931 Rum 2nd Edition was blended from rums distilled between 2004-2006 and is a mix of pot and column-distilled rum, with a portion of the latter aged in port pipes. St Lucia 1931 was subsumed into the company's excellent Chairman's Reserve range after the sixth release in 2016, and these fine-sipping early editions of 1931 are now in high demand from rum fans.
