A cask strength 9-year-old Royal Brackla 2012 bottled in 2021 by the independent bottlers Brave New Spirits for their Rebels Guerilla Casks range, which eschews traditional maturation and only releases whiskies matured in more interesting and outlandish casks rather than the usual ex-bourbon or Oloroso sherry casks.

By way of example, this Guerilla Casks 2012 Royal Brackla 9-year-old was matured in a first fill wine barrique that previously housed Banyuls, a sweet French fortified wine from Roussillon. Royal Brackla 2012 9-year-old Rebels Guerilla Casks is a limited edition of 493 bottles and was bottled without colouring or chill filtration at a robust 55.9%.
