Remy Martin VSOP Fine Champagne Cognac 1 Litre
VSOP Fine Champagne Cognac 1 Litre / 40%
An old litre bottle of Remy Martin VSOP Fine Champagne cognac, produced most likely for duty free / travel retail. From the frosted bottle and gold shoulder label we can date this bottle to between 1974-1987.
Remy Martin were pioneers of the Fine Champagne designation, which can only be used for cognacs made entirely with eaux-de-vie from the two foremost producing regions, Grande and Petite Champagne. The original Remy Martin Fine Champagne VSOP was introduced in 1927 and was said to use cognacs aged around 40 years - these 1970s/80s editions are probably rather younger, though they will still have been assembled from considerably older and better eaux-de-vies than their modern equivalents, as anyone who has tasted them will attest.
