Pittyvaich 1989 | 20 Year Old Special Releases 2009
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 57.5%
An official Pittyvaich 1989 20-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled at cask strength for owner Diageo's 2009 Special Releases.
Pittyvaich was a particularly short-lived Speyside distillery, being constructed in the mid-1970s and closing permanently in 1993, with the distillery buildings being demolished in 2002. This was the first prestige official bottling of Pittyvaich, which previously had only been represented in Diageo's portfolio by the 12-year-old Flora & Fauna edition that was bottled between 1991-2006.
This 20-year-old Pittyvaich 1989 was an edition of 9000 bottles released at a hefty natural cask strength of 57.5%, and was the first of five Special Release Pittyvaich bottlings released between 2009-2020, with further official bottlings appearing in the Prima & Ultima and Casks of Distinction series.
