Old Rarity was a top quality blend, and was known to contain a significant proportion of Caol Ila in its generous malt whisky component. The old 75 proof (43%) bottlings of Old Rarity from the 1960s and 1970s are always worth picking up if you can find them - you can really taste the old school Islay style in them, and the best ones are spectacular.
