This is Edition 09.1 of the ever-popular and fantastic super heavily peated Octomore from Bruichladdich distillery.

This single malt Scotch whisky was distilled in 2012, matured in American oak casks and bottled at 5 years of age from 100% Islay grown barley.

It is what Bruichladdich class as super heavily peated with a PPM of 156. The name Octomore comes from a farm that overlooks the Islay village of Port Charlotte and it is only a stone's throw from Bruichladdich Distillery.

There was also an Octomore distillery that operated on that site from 1816 for over 30 years.
