An old bottle of small batch Oban The Macleans Old Teddy Highland single malt whisky released in 2019 as the first of three instalments in Oban's The Macleans series. Oban Old Teddy was a limited edition of 3690 bottles at a hearty 51.7%.
This limited edition Oban The Macleans Old Teddy pays tribute to Old Teddy Maclean, who began work at the Oban distillery in 1953 and rose to the rank of master distiller, a position later filled by both his son Young Teddy and his grandson Derek, who began distilling at Oban in 2017. Derek Macelan selected the whisky for Old Teddy, which was matured in a 60/40 ratio of refill American hogsheads and sherry butts.
