An old bottle of Mortlach 25-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled by Elgin indie bottlers Gordon & Macphail for their Distillery Labels range. This is the old 43% edition which was bottled in this presentation between around 2018-2021.
Mortlach is one of those distilleries defined Gordon & MacPhail as Scotland's greatest indie bottlers, just as they themselves have helped define the ideal character of this distillery in the minds of many single malt fans. The resulting symbiotic relationship has been an amazing blessing for whisky fans and there’s no doubt that over the years G&M have released the vast majority of the very best Mortlachs ever bottled.
This Mortlach 25 year old is full of rich sherry aromas with hints of rum-soaked fruit. On the palate are rich summer berries complemented by cinnamon, cloves and orange zest with a long fruit finish.
