Moët & Chandon Dom Perignon 2003 Vintage Champagne
Vintage Brut Champagne 750ml / 12.5%
A bottle of 2003 vintage Dom Pérignon Champagne, the prestige cuvée from Épernay behemoths Moët & Chandon, which is only produced in exceptional years and spends eight years ageing on its lees before bottling. The 2003 vintage was released in 2011.
2003 was a difficult vintage in Champagne - however, the best wines are spectacular. Frosts in April followed by an extended heatwave led to exceptionally low yields of small, concentrated fruit and a higher proportion of Pinot Noir (53%) in the mix at Dom Pérignon, whose 2003 vintage release has been hailed for its luxurious texture and generous fruity richness. This wine is peaking now, but will still be good until at least the end of the decade.
