Shenk's Homestead Sour Mash is a prestige bottling of Michter's rye-heavy sour mash whiskey, bottled at a great drinking strength of 45.6%. The whiskey's name is a reference to John Shenk, who founded the distillery that would later become Michter's in 1753.

For Shenk's Homestead, Michter's mature a portion of the whiskey in specially toasted barrels made with imported French oak, adding a layer of sweet bakery spices to the final assemblage.
