A bottle of MacPhail's 30-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled from a small batch of sherry casks without colouring or chill filtration by the eponymous Gordon & MacPhail. This is the 2024 edition of MacPhail's 30-year-old, released in summer 2024 at a lip-smacking 46%.

As is traditional with the MacPhail's series, the distillery of origin is undisclosed (and G&M aren't telling), but the usual suspects for these Speysides are the likes of Glenlivet, Glenfarclas, Macallan and Glen Grant. This is the first 30-year-old MacPhail's bottling for quite a while, and the first at this strength, so we're expecting this to be a popular bottling.

NOSE: STEWED FRUIT NOTES COMBINED WITH APPLE, ROASTED NUTS AND SUBTLE CHOCOLATE. HONEY COMB AND DRIED APRICOT NOTES ARE PRESENT.

TASTE: SPICY TO START, FOLLOWED BY BLACKBERRY , RASPBERRY AND APPLE. MILK CHOCOLATE, TANGERINE AND OAK ALSO COME TO THE FORE.

FINISH: MEDIUM FINISH WITH HINTS OF MENTHOL AND LASTING COCOA .
